Wroxall RobinsOur aim to create an attractive and stimulating learning environment where children feel confident, secure and can achieve their full potential from their individual starting points. The children have free flow access to an indoor and outdoor environment that has been designed to support all areas of learning. Our staff are ambitious in planning stimulating activities which provide the children with a range of rich, learning opportunities.
At Wroxall Robins, we support our children to articulate their interests and ideas by ensuring communication and vocabulary development are at the heart of our curriculum. Children are supported by skilled adults to express themselves effectively and keep themselves safe. We offer children and families a supportive and caring environment which promotes equality and values diversity.
By the time children move onto school we want children to:
• know more
• remember more
• explore more (from their starting points)
We want them to be:
• independent and resilient
• confident communicators
• curious creative and active
• able to build positive relationships with adults and peers
We work in partnership with parents, to help their children thrive and reach their full potential but most of all have FUN learning through play!
At Wroxall Robins, we ensure that all seven areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage are implemented into our spacious, purposeful and free flow indoor and outdoor environment.
Wroxall Robins are very much part of the school community, and we have access to a wide range of spaces to enhance our learning including the school hall, playground, adventure apparatus and outdoor spaces. Becoming familiar with the main site provides the perfect opportunity for children to transition into Reception class and build relationships with the children and staff.
We provide rich learning opportunities that meet the needs of all children, stimulate and challenge them to develop the wide range of skills, knowledge and attitudes they will need as foundations for learning. Our timetable changes throughout the year to take into consideration the changing needs of the children.
Our planning is supported with the use of the 'Birth to 5 Matters' framework and staff attend a wide range of training opportunities to provide knowledgeable and skilled adults who plan rich learning engagements. Each key person will develop individualised learning opportunities based on observations, which inform future planning and draw on children's needs and interests. This is promoted through adult-led and child-initiated opportunities both indoors and outdoors.
Robins will make continued progress and be able to demonstrate their enjoyment and engagement in their learning as they explore and investigate. They will be able to appreciate and understand the world around this is supported by rich opportunities to develop cultural capital and explore:
• Art
• Celebrations
• Cultures
• Dance
• Local History
• Music
They will show enthusiasm by actively asking questions about the world around them and expressively make links between their learning experiences.
Children will leave the setting as successful learners fully prepared for their next journey.
This will all be achieved through supportive, play based learning with skilled and knowledgeable adults who create an exciting and enabling environment providing a solid foundation for all children.
